Q: How to fulfill the programming and data structures prerequisites for MSIT?
A:
- One option to fulfill this requirement is to take the sequence ITCS 1214 and 1215 at
UNC Charlotte.
- If you would like to take a different set of courses, please consult the following syllabus
to make sure that they cover the same material.
- If you can demonstrate substantial professional experience in the following topic list areas:

- Control structures - if/else, while, do-while, for,

Q: Can I take the prerequisite courses at CPCC?
A: Yes. ITCS 1214 is equivalent to CSC 120 at CPCC. ITCS 1215 is equivalent to CSC 130 at CPCC.

Q: Is the MSIT a feeder program for the Ph.D IT program?
A: No. Successful completion of the MSIT program may not lead to the admission of the Ph.D. in IT program at UNC Charlotte.

Q: What courses can be transferred into the MSIT program?
A: Students can take up to 6 credit hours (2 courses) as
a post-baccalaureate student. A post-baccalaureate student
who is subsequently admitted to full standing in the degree
program may, with the approval of the program director, apply
a maximum of six hours completed toward this degree. Students
with a ITM certificate program can transfer all of their courses
into the MSIT program. Other transfer policies of the UNC Charlotte
graduate school will apply to the MSIT program.

Q: What is an acceptable GRE / GMAT score?
A: We evaluate your application based on a number of factors. GRE/GMAT is one of the factors. We will not be able to tell whether scores are satisfactory without the entire application package.
